Les Vignobles Ruhlmann-Schutz, Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives 500mL 2020

The grapes used for this Sélection de Grains Nobles come from a thirty-year-old vine thriving in a rich clay-limestone terroir with exceptionally deep roots. Due to the vine's low yield, the grapes produced are small yet incredibly concentrated. As the grapes undergo an over-ripening process with a concentration of noble rot, they take on a candied aspect by early December. The wine, displaying a deep gold color with hints of straw-yellow, exudes essences of violet, rose, and fir initially, evolving into potent exotic aromas and spices later on. With a sweet, suave character, this wine boasts a full-bodied, harmonious nature marked by gingerbread, ginger, and dried hay notes. Its well-structured composition offers a successful balance and impressive length on the palate.
