Domaine Girard Pinot Noir 2022

Domaine Girard has been passionate about their grape growing and wines for five generations. Located in the village of Alaigne in the southwestern corner of the Languedoc, the Girard respectfully take advantage of their vineyards by farming the land along sustainable practices.
The higher elevation vineyards which are located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, help to ensure a signature freshness and elegance throughout the range of wines. Domaine Girard produces a range or AOC and IGP wines that represent both cool climate characteristics and freshenss. As such, they make ideal pairings for many different types of cuisine.

Pinot Noir is rarely successful in the Languedoc. However, the higher altitude of this vineyard permits more even ripening of the grapes, and thus avoids the jammy style that often occurs with this variety in the south of France. A terrific value in Pinot Noir that is true to form.

Pale ruby, watery rim. Palate, lively, soft, lightweight, tomato and dried herbs, touch of stem, bit like Marlborough pinot. some strawberry, finishes with cranberry freshness and some tannic grip but good soft light red.
