Though many don’t think of red wines when Sancerre comes to mind, roughly 20% of the planted vines in the region are in fact Pinot Noir, with about half of that being used to vinify red wines. Millet has a focus on optimal quality, sorting the grapes twice before maceration, then aging 50% in oak barrels and 50% in steel vats before blending. The result is a complex, light bodied red offering scents of cherries and violets. Fruit in the glass is balanced by a slight tannic nuance that would pair well with poultry and most cheeses.
