Burgundy,Chablis, & Beaujolais

Domaine Jean-Philippe Marchand, Gevrey Chambertin

"The Marchand estate was born in Morey- Saint-Denis on February 24th, 1813, when Pierre Marchand, a small winegrower from Reulle-Vergy, a village in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, married Marie Jacotier who had inherited a vineyard estate from her father who died 3 years before. Pierre junior was born in 1915, yet his father died on the child's birthday anniversary.

As eleveurs our mission consists mainly in allowing each appellation to express its specific character.

Most vines are forty years old or so. Vineyards are traditionally ploughed. Grapes are picked by hand."

Domaine Romanin, Fuissé

"Domaine Romanin has seen five generations of winegrowers. Respecting tradition is thus essential in crafting exemplary and authentic wines. Constant investment in new equipment (stainless steel tanks, a pneumatic press...), combine with rational viticulture (using organic fertilizer, limiting phytosanitary treatments, recycling...) is necessary in guaranteeing the quality and consistency of our wines.

The harvested grapes are brought to the domaine where they are pressed immediately.

The vineyards, although extremely fragmented, equal 10.5 hectares. The clay and limestone soil, characteristic of the region, favours the harmonious development of aromas typical of Chardonnay, with both fruity and floral nuances."

Eléonore Moreau, Chablis

"At the door of Chablis, inside the small village of de Poilly sur Serein, the Domaine Moreau & Fille overhang a river and a waterfall, with fields and meadow around it. This unique landscape reflects the history of the Domaine. Indeed, it was once a wine-growing field before becoming an agricultural and dairy farm. When Laurent arrived in 1982, he brought back the idea of growing vines again."

Domaine de la Ronze, Beaujolais

"Winemaker from father to son since 1850, the Domaine de la Ronze is a family story. Installed in the heart of the Beaujolais lands, they develop quality wines, for keeping with a marked typicity of our terroirs. Independent winegrowers, they cultivate 17 hectares of vines with respect for our environment. Cyrille Bernardo harvests by hand and vinifies traditionally."
